Why cant I get my 1099's done

I'm here to ensure you can prepare and file your Form 1099 in QuickBooks, @pekers2.

To begin, let's make sure the Legal address showing on the Account and Settings are updated. By doing this you can successfully create payroll forms.

  1. Select the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings.
  2. Click Company on the left menu.
  3. Choose Address to expand, and review if the Legal address is correct. Update if not.
  4. Select the Same as company address box, then click Save.
  5. Lastly, select Done.

Once done, generate the 1099 form again. If you get the same outcome, let's modify the address from the Review your company info screen when preparing 1099s.

To do that follows the steps below:

  1. Select the Expenses menu and choose Vendors.
  2. Click Prepare 1099s.

  3. Choose Let’s get started or Continue your 1099s.

  4. From the Review your company info screen, enter the correct address on the Name and address fields.
  5. Select Save and then click Next, then follow the prompt to generate your 1099.

You'll want to publish out copies to mail and complete your filing with the IRS, plus print and send a copy to each of your contractors. Feel free to utilize this resource for more insights: Print your 1099 forms.

Keep me posted if you have other questions about preparing and filing the 1099 form in QuickBooks. I'll be happy to help you always. Have a pleasant day.
