Why does my Quickbooks fail to work with Thunderbird?

  • Quickbooks and Thunderbird don't play nice, although they used to.

A number of things changed and I have no way to determine what I need to do to get Quickbooks to send forms through Thunderbird.

I've already chased the threads here however I cannot make it work.

We are heavily invested in both systems and need to get back to the point where I can send invoices, PO's etc thru the Thunderbird e-mail client.

I'm running Windows 10, Quickbooks 2018 and the latest 32bit Thunderbird.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi WEI-INC. Currently, Thunderbird is only supported inside of QuickBooks 2019. Refer to our article on Connecting your email to QuickBooks desktop. If upgraded to 2019 or higher, QuickBooks does support the plain-text version of Thunderbird within Mozilla. I recommend upgrading to the 2020 version to ensure you maintain supportability between your email client and QuickBooks software.

Why does my Quickbooks fail to work with Thunderbird?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let me help you get your return address change as quickly as possible. You can change the address when sending your invoices and statements. 

Using the Send Forms feature won't change the address for all sent forms since you can select an email from the drop-down. You'll want to update the email address in the preferences instead.   

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Click Edit located at the top, and select Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences window, click Send Forms on the left panel.
  3. Click the Add button, and then add the email address.
  4. Choose the Email Provider, and select OK.
  5. Once done, click OK again 

Whatever you set up as the default address, it will be used when you send other forms on the transaction page.
