Why does Quick Books give me error 105 and the bank said the site is not down?

Hello there, @kristin21.

You'd be prompted with Error 105 when your bank's website is down or having technical difficulties during the data transfer. This error usually resolves itself within 24 hours.

Just to clarify, what is the name of the bank you're getting an error with? Are you getting the error while trying to connect your bank with QuickBooks? Or was it when you’re trying to update your connected bank account? This way I can further check its connectivity status.

We can perform a manual update to your connected bank to get rid of the error. Here’s how to update your bank manually:

  1. Choose the Banking menu.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Select your bank account.
  4. Click the Update button.

If you're still unable to connect, please wait 2 or 3 hours then try again. Once completed, your bank will download your latest transactions automatically. Though, this may result to duplicate transactions on your register. You can exclude the duplicates from the For Review tab.

Were you able to re-establish your bank's connection with QuickBooks using the steps I've shared? Or have you visited your bank's website to check if there are alerts that need your attention?

I'll be around if you need more help with your concern. Wishing you all the best.
