Why does the subject line on a sent invoice say something different, than what is saved on the template?

If you change the subject line before sending the invoice to your customers, it will override the formatted subject line on your invoice template, don133. I suggest checking the subject line before sending the invoice to your customers to ensure it's correct.

 

You can also verify the default email subject line that will be sent to your customers for all your sales forms in the Account and Settings page.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Choose Account and settings.
  3. In the left menu, click Sales and go to the Messages section.
  4. From there, check the Email subject line.

 

If you confirm that the default email subject line is the same as the one before sending the invoice, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team. They have the tools to access your account securely and investigate the issue further.

 

You can reach them by clicking the Help button at the top-right corner of your QBO account and choosing the Assistant tab to get help from the QB Assistant. From there, enter your question and select Chat with us or Have us call you. Be sure to check their support hours to know when they're available.
