A client said they could make a payment via VCARD instead of mailing a check. How do I accept and receive that payment? Via QB or my bank?

You probably have to sign up at VPAY or similar.

Hi @accounting322,

Thanks for the question!  To clarify, you're referring to a virtual credit card, is that correct?  If so, you would enter the information provided by your customer manually, just as you would a regular credit card.  In the spirit of transparency, though, I will say that we have seen issues where customers have not been successful when trying to process a virtual credit card.  You can certainly try, though!  If it doesn't process successfully, you would have to ask for another form of payment from your customer.

Thanks,

Lucas

Thanks for following on this thread, @dwmeyer. Allow me to chime in and assist you with your vCard concern in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks allows you to use a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit card types. However, processing vCard is unavailable as of the moment.

I’d suggest sending a feedback request to our product development team. They will evaluate these and pick some of them to include in future updates. This way, we can help you with your business needs.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, click on Feedback.
  3. Share your feedback. Then, click "Next."

You'll want to track your suggestion through this website. You can also visit our blog to keep up with all of our recent events and developments.

For reference, you can click this link to learn how to connect your credit cards to QBO. This contains steps that’ll help you automatically download your transactions. You can also modify them.

Here’s an article that you might find helpful when matching and managing your downloaded transactions. Then, manage your bank feeds and reconcile.
