Hi,

Usually if a customer has a negative balance  (credit)  due to over-payment or advanced deposit, I get this below message when I save & close an invoice.

I checked by mistake "Do not display this message in the future" and now I'm unable to find a way to to get this message back in order to apply credits.

I tried to default all the company's and my preferences but this did not help. I had to create a new company just to take a screenshot of this message.

Any idea? Thanks

Thank you for doing the initial steps on your own, Bisho. I'll guide you to enable the option.

There is a user preference the General section that says Bring back all one time messages, you'll want to select that to bring back the prompt. The default setting disables this that's why you still don't see it.bring back all one-time messages.PNG

On the other hand, if you see a question mark icon or Help button on whatever windows you're working on, you can click on them to see more details about the section that you're in. The same thing happens when you press F1 on your keyboard.

Feel free to go back to this thread if you need more help. We'll be more than happy to see you again.

Take care and happy weekend!

I thought this was going to be my solution but when I click OK, it unchecks the box for Bring Back All One Time Messages.  Any thoughts?

Hello there, @FSER2662.

Let's check the option again if it won't bring back the messages. Then let's repair QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

If you already tried the steps and still having the same issue. Repairing QuickBooks can help fix common errors you encounter while using, updating, or installing QBDT.

Here's how to run the repair tool:

  1. First, back up your company file.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Click the Windows icon and type in Control Panel.
  4. Choose Programs and Features, then Uninstall a Program.
  5. Select QuickBooks and click Uninstall/Change.
  6. Click Continue or Next.
  7. Select Repair and Next.
  8. Hit Finish.

Once done, make sure that you have the most recent fixes and security updates. You'll need to update your QuickBooks to the latest release. If you got an error while repairing your QBDT, please refer to this article: Repair QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

Let me know how it goes and leave a reply below. I'm always here to help you. Stay safe and have a great day!

Hello,

Unfortunately, I tried these steps and I still can't get the box to stay checked.  Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you.

I appreciate you for trying the steps above, FSER2662.

At this time, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team. We have agents that have extra tools that can check your account and verify the issue further.

Here's how:

  1. From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Scroll down and click Contact Us.
  3. Enter, I'm unable to tick the Bring back all one time messages box.
  4. From there, select how you'll want to contact us.

I'm just a post-away if you need help. Keep safe!
