Can a client dispute an electronic check payment like a credit card payment?

Yes, your client can dispute a credit card payment, @firewaterbars

Your client's bank is the one that creates a formal dispute. This automatically reverses the payment amount along with a dispute fee. It is then deducted from your account balance.

However, you can challenge a dispute. This lets you respond with evidence to make your case that the payment was valid. It takes your client's bank 60-75 days to reach a final decision.

You can visit this website: Dispute Overview. This link is specific to Stripe, but it covers the same information about the dispute resolution process.

I'd also suggest checking out this link: Accepting Credit Card Payments. You'll find more details about the different ways in accepting payments, their fees and rates, and how to protect your account.

I'm here anytime you need further help. Have a great day, @firewaterbars.
