Is there a way to categorize a split payment after it's matched? For example, I have a company that has many different clinics as customers, who all pay through QuickBooks Payments. When multiple clinics pay on the same day, the lump sum is what will be deposited into our bank account. When I match the transaction in QB, is there a way to split it up to show what clinic paid what amount to show on the P&L?
I want on my P&L to have a breakdown of each clinic and what they have paid, but if I match the transaction I am seeing that it all goes into one big pot. If I don't match the transactions and instead add and split originally, this is how I want it but then I get a big number in undeposited funds.
Either I can't find it on what you sent, or it doesn't exactly match up with my question.
I want to split a transaction AFTER matching it. Do you know how to do this?
We use QB to accept payments, and if multiple clinics pay on the same day, the deposit comes in as a lump sum. I have to match the payment when it comes through on QB so that it's not double counting income, but after I match it I want to be able to split it to show which clinics paid us what out of that lump sum deposit, and so that on the P/L we can see over time what amount has been paid to us by each clinic.
