I purchased a check scanner to run with my QB Pro 2016.  How do I access the drivers to install?

Hello @Leahross07.

 

Let me help share the steps in installing the scanner drivers.

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. After completing the installation of the eCheck Software, plug in your check scanner to your computer
  2. Select the option to Start Scanning Checks
  3. Install the appropriate driver(s):
    • Panini Vision X drivers are installed during the "Install eCheck Software" process
    • Fujitsu ScanSnap drivers will need to be installed by either inserting the disc that came with the scanner or downloading the drivers using the following article - Download the latest version of the ScanSnap scanner driver.
    • TWAIN drivers are installed per your manufacturers specifications, you may check compatibility by using the TWAIN Compatibility Tool.   

 

Once you have installed the drivers for your check scanner you may now start scanning checks by going to the Customers drop-down from the top of the screen and selecting Check Processing Activities and clicking on the Scan Checks option. Choose Scan Checks and follow the prompts to start scanning your paper checks.

  2. Choose your QuickBooks Product.
  3. Select your QuickBooks Version.

Help I just spent 3 hours with level 2 support trying to get my Panini Visiom x to work.  My Case # is 967751.  They fianaly told me the couldnt help any further?  Tried to get with panini and they told us they only sell the scanners I need to get software/drivers from the instituion that you are using it with.  I bought panini because it was recomended in this article and it appears in your commercial?  Im ready to ship the scanner back. I followed the insruction to the letter installing it?   Please help

Thanks for reaching out to us and providing detailed information about your concern.

 

You can choose any scanners as long as it is TWAIN compliant.

 

TWAIN is a standard software protocol and Applications Programming Interface (API) that lets your scanner communicate with an application. 

 

Most scanners have a TWAIN driver that you can install from the CD that came with your Panini Vision X. 

 

Let's isolate this issue by following these steps:

  1. Open QuickBooks and create your scan profile by going to the Company menu.
  2. Choose Documents and select Doc Center.
  3. Click on Scan a Document and choose New.
  4. You can edit the name of your profile and click on Continue.
  5. Adjust the profile settings and select Save once done.

Now, let's set up and test your scanner. Just follow the Step 2 section in this article: QuickBooks Scan Manager: Scan and attach documents to transactions.
