Credit Card payments

We are in our 'due diligence' stage of reviewing Merchant Services.  I have called Support several times and gotten two different answers for the same question.  The question: When and how does the customer paying an emailed invoice with the payment link notified that the credit card payment is declined?   Same question if the credit card payment is entered manually as a phone payment or card swipe?

One rep said after the funding days it could be found in the Merchant Services Center.  A second rep said there would be an immediate pop-up msg in both instances.

Credit Card payments

Welcome to the Community, @lbandy. I'm here to answer all your questions about QuickBooks Payments.

For customers paying an emailed invoice with the payment link, there will be a pop-up message from the merchant saying "declined-invalid transaction."

For credit card payments entered manually as a phone payment or card swipe, you will immediately be prompted that the card is declined. In this case, you'll need to contact the cardholder to re-process the card.
