Declined credit card Notice

Is there a way to get an email notice when a customer's credit card is declined on a recurring payment?

Declined credit card Notice

Yes, there's a way, @chris120.

QuickBooks Payments sends you an email within 1 hour after any transaction, such as your customer's declined credit card recurring payment. Since you haven't received the notice, here are the possible reasons:

  • It was moved to your Spam or Junk folder.
  • You use a custom email domain (johndoe@mycompany.com) or an email client (Thunderbird, AOL, Outlook, Exchange).
  • Your internet service blocks the QuickBooks Payments email address.

I've got the steps to help you resolve this. First, let's open your email and go to the Spam or Junk folder. This way, you can check the declined credit card's notice from there and move it to your Inbox. If it's not there, let's add the following Intuit’s email addresses to your contact list.

  • BusinessServices@intuit.com
  • Payments@intuit.com
  • Notification@email.merchantcenter.intuit.com
  • PaymentNotification@email.paymentsolutions.intuit.com
  • ReplyTo@QBDT.intuit.com
  • do_not_reply@intuit.com
  • quickbooks@notification.intuit.com

Once done, send an email to any of the email addresses above. It helps your internet service recognize it as a friendly contact. If this doesn't work, I'd suggest contacting your IT person or domain provider for assistance to turn off "Sender ID filtering" temporarily.

To learn more about the process above, see Steps 1 - 3 through this article: Unable To Receive Intuit Email.

Once you've received the email, it'll give you the next steps on what to do to fix your customer's declined credit card payment. Any related fees will also be in the notice. You can also refer to this article to guide you through the process: Resolving Customer's Declined Credit Card Payments.

Lastly, I recommend logging into your Merchant Service Center. Then, go to the Activity & Reports menu and select Transactions. From there, you'll be able to search for your credit card payments within a year. For more details, visit this article: Search For Transactions In The Merchant Service Center.

I'll be right here to help if you need further assistance. Enjoy the rest of your day, @chris120.
