Do I need a specific setup to accept domestic and international online payments (credit cards and bank transfers)? What are the fees associated with that? Thanks!

You need a QuickBooks Payments account to allow your customers to pay invoices online. However, this option is only available within the United States. Below are the following fees or rates per transaction:

• ACH bank transfers: 1% (max $10)
• Card – Swiped: 2.4% + 25¢
• Card – Invoiced: 2.9% + 25¢
• Card – Keyed: 3.4% + 25¢

Once you signed up for QuickBooks Payments, your customers will see a Review and Pay button when they receive the invoice through email. To learn more about the process, consider checking out these articles:

For customers outside the U.S, they need to contact the bank to know if there is a way of using their international card with U.S. based businesses. For more information, refer to this article: Accept Non-US credit card from customers using QuickBooks Merchant Services.

In the meantime, I suggest looking for a 3rd-party app that can integrate with QBO to allow your international customers to pay you. Here's how:

1. In QBO, go to the Apps menu at the left pane.
2. Click the Browse Category drop-down menu, then select Data Sync.
3. Choose the app you want to integrate.
4. Tick Get App Now and complete the following on-screen instructions.
