Employees Writing Checks without access to see other transactions?

We would like one of our employees to have check writing access to only one account in QBO.  From what I can tell that is not possible.  I tried different access levels and they all allowed the employee to see all transactions from both bank accounts, which we do not want due to payroll, etc.  Has anyone found a workaround?  Do you use a different program that integrates with QBO?

Thanks!

Employees Writing Checks without access to see other transactions?

Ensuring your employee has the right check writing access in QuickBooks Online (QBO) while maintaining confidentiality is essential, sparkslg. Currently, it's not possible to restrict check writing permissions to just one account, as this access will extend to all transactions across your accounts.

However, a feasible alternative is to explore third-party applications that integrate seamlessly with QBO. You can find suitable options by navigating to the Find apps menu within QBO.

While we cannot recommend a specific third-party application, you can easily search using relevant keywords in the search bar, and QuickBooks will filter the results to showcase apps that align with your requirements.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Go to Apps and select Find Apps.
  2. Search for a keyword in the search bar and press Enter.
  3. Select an app and click Get app now to integrate.

Your feedback is invaluable, especially regarding features like account-specific check writing access. I encourage you to share your thoughts with our Product Development team, as this feedback greatly influences future updates.

To submit a product suggestion, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Select Next to submit.

You can track your feature requests on the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website. Additionally, consider using the audit log feature in QBO to monitor employee activities within QBO.

We highly encourage you to post here again if you have further questions about assigning a role and permission to your users in QBO. As always, we're here in the Community to lend you a hand.
