Entering time into invoices

Hi, I keep track of my time in the time tracking.  Then in my invoices I hit time/cost to bring in the expenses for that job.   When the. time comes in it is very specific, each day and times of the day.  I want it to just be a one line cumulative number.  so not Monday these hours and Tuesday these hours but more 34 hours total.  no specific break downs.  I have Mac desktop 2020.  Thank you.

Hi younglifer10,

I'll walk you through the steps of changing your format for time entries.

  1. Choose QuickBooks > Preferences.
  2. On the Preferences pane, select Data Entry.
  3. Set the preferences for time entries.
  4. Close the Preferences pane

Please let me know if you have additional questions. Have a good day ahead!

Entering time into invoices

thanks for the help, changing the format is just the style decimals vs hrs and minutes.   I'm looking for when entering the time charged against a job on an invoice, it does each section of work.  like monday from 1-4 and tuesday from 7-10 each as a line item.  I want it to say hours and total 6 no specifics.
