Expenses

I have a number of payments every month that are automatic payments. How do I mark these as paid in my Expense list? Or do these payments remain on the Expense list and not get moved?

Expenses

Sending good vibes, Elyse026. Allow me to help share some information on how expense works on QuickBooks Online.

Marking expenses as paid in QuickBooks isn't possible since these transactions are good as on-the-spot settlements. Therefore, your automatic payments will remain on the list and be moved.

To know more on how expenses work in QuickBooks Online, you can take a look at this article: What is the difference between bills, checks, and expenses?. On the link, you'll find details on when to use this transaction as well as a link to track your payables.

Also, in case you need to record bill payment using an expense, here's an article outlining the steps: Record a bill payment by EFT, ATM card, or debit card.

Please let me know in the comment section if you have any follow-up questions about this or need other assistance with QuickBooks so I can get back to you right away. I'm always here to help. Take care and have a great day!
