GoPayment Migration Update & FAQ

On July 1st, 2019, the ability to import GoPayment transactions to QuickBooks Online was removed as planned. In response to your feedback, the ability to import historical transactions will be made available in an upcoming GoPayment release scheduled for August. We’ve updated our GoPayment app with a new look and better experience to allow future transactions to download in QuickBooks Online automatically.

Here is what you need to know prior to switching to the new experience:

  • Invite only: The capability to try the new experience is only available to select customers. If you received an email or see an option Try the new experience in the settings menu, you are eligible.
  • Primary admin: Only the primary GoPayment admin can switch to the new experience.
  • App version: Please ensure you are on version 11.0 or later.
  • Experiences: Within GoPayment, the interface in the old experience is blue and the new experience is green.
  • Old Experience Access: Once you have converted to the new experience, you will still have the ability to return to the old experience. However, sales you make in the old experience will no longer be available to sync with your QuickBooks Online account.

When you sign in there will be an invitation for you to try the new experience, it will look like the following:gopaymentupdate2-a.png

You can also migrate by going to:

Settings > Try the new experience

This capability is now available in the latest version of the GoPayment app! Now, transactions processed within GoPayment can also be imported within the app. All historical and future transactions can be imported by doing the following:

  • Update GoPayment to 11.1 app version or later
  • Sign into GoPayment blue experience
  • From the home screen, select the Settings
  • Tap Transactions
  • Select a transaction by tapping on it

  • Tap on Import to Quickbooks
  • Select the type of transaction you would like to import: Import as Sales Receipt or Import as Receive Payment
  • Once the transaction has successfully imported, you’ll see the following message: Your transaction was successfully imported to QuickBooks Online!

Similar to how transactions were previously imported within QuickBooks Online, transactions can be imported as Sales Receipt or Receive Payment. When importing as a Sales Receipt, a new Sales Receipt transaction is downloaded into QuickBooks Online. When importing as a Receive Payment, a credit will be downloaded in QuickBooks Online. Re: GoPayment Migration Update & FAQ

I am do not have the option to "Try the new experience" on my GoPayment app. I have updated it, deleted it, re-downloaded it, cleared my cache and I still do not have the option to "Try the new experience". Because of this I have not imported my GoPayments since June and now I have countless transactions that need to be matched. I am a very worried as I have had so many transactions since June and the idea of "manually" entering these transactions is daunting beyond reason. I am not an accountant, but I have been using Quickbooks and GoPayment for my business for the last 6 years without an issue until now. This all happened without warning. I searched my email and did not find anything about this change. What do I do? Do I really have to manually enter all of these transactions? If so, I will absolutely start shopping for a different POS and accounting service. Though, I really do not want to do that.

Re: GoPayment Migration Update & FAQ

Hi there, @KevinBBP,

You should be able to download historical transactions from the previous version. If you have migrated to the new experience, you need to switch back to the old version to view them.

Let me show you how:

  1. Sign in to GoPayment.
  2. Tap More, then choose Go back to the old experience.
  3. Select Settings, then Transactions.

If you need to enter transactions you've processed on your mobile device, check this out: Record GoPayment Transactions. This article provides detailed steps on how to add payments.

Keep me posted if there's anything else you need with your GoPayment transactions and I'll get back to you.

Thanks for getting back to me, @KevinBBP.

Right now, you're unable to use the Import GoPayment feature in QBO as mentioned in the latest migration update above.

I've already converted the GoPayment into a link so you can log in to the Merchant Service Center and view transactions from there.

To access your Merchant account, make sure to use the Internet Explorer browser. You can go through this article for additional information: Manage your Account Information. Also, this article provides detailed steps if you need to edit your account information.

Let me know if you have follow-up questions and I'd be glad to help.

@AmyBivin This is the best article I’ve found on these issues and you seems to be the woman with the most answers ... can you tell us when we can expect 11.1 to get released ??  It’s mid August already.

I found a new bug today... surely someone has reported it already but to be safe I’ve attached. (This looks like an error in your code) because of it, every payment I take against an invoice is “cancelled” by go payment AFTER my customer has signed for the sale.

I echo every concern of every customer about these go payment changes and I truly hope an upgrade is really planned for this month or we too will have to leave.

Oh, and we never even received word that this upgrade was happening ... just the constant pop up window forcing us to try.

Intuit has has such a positive history in the world of software development ... it’s worrisome that this one has missed the mark by such a great distance and that there has been no ability to truly revert to the old version - with syncd imports and all.

I have seen your attention to our pain and I am grateful that you are advocating for us. Just please make release the fixes soon!

Re: GoPayment Migration Update & FAQ

This gopayments is so horrible!!! For QBO Green there is no new experience, no manage users, not even in the merchant center... whats the deal!! you say go there to edit users then it tells you to go back to QBO to manage them there, then you say oh sorry thats not available yet.... give me a break.. your developers need a deduction in pay.... this is simple issues to address.  To have intuit customers going round and round and just taking there money for a product that does not work is down right sick...

Re: GoPayment Migration Update & FAQ - with high cc processing rates and now this bs update that somehow they thought was useful I would much rather go through a different credit card processor

Having nothing but trouble attempting to get the new version of Quickbooks Gopayment. I have no New Experience button when selecting the menu button.... Any ideas? I've called support and its just circles. I'm stuck on the old version....
