How can I record an Intuits payment notification of a returned of check (bank to bank) in QB Pro 2016

I received a notification from Intuit payments that one of my customers submitted a NSF payment through them. I am using QB Pro 2016 and I tried using the information that was through the community but I believe it is for a newer version as I have no reversing journal button in my receive payments window. I followed all the steps through the QB help posted in regards too Handle NSF or bounced check from customer last updated 3/11/19. This is a payment that went through QB payments. I'm at a loss as to what to do as it shows my customer with a very large credit as I haven't deleted anything I have done to this point. Any help would be appreciated.

Great to see you here today, @Tom Donaldson,

I want to make sure you're able to get your work done. I only need a few more information about the steps you've taken to fix the NSF payment.

May I know if this is the article you followed: Handle Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) or Bounced Check From Customers? If so, which option did you perform in QuickBooks?

Any details you can add is extremely helpful for us to get the right resolution to the discrepancy.

I look forward to your response on this post. Click the Reply button below to let me know. Have a good one!

Morning Jen,

Sorry about late response. Yes I was using that article. I tried option 1 first but it didn't have the record bounced check icon so I went with option 2. I got all the way up to step B ii and had to stop do to unavailability.

Hey there, Tom Donaldson.

I'd like to know more about this. What's unavailable? The Item List window?

Following the article, click the Lists menu first, then go to Item List. Please check my screenshots below on how you can continue creating the NSF fee item.

After creating it, you can continue Step 3 in the article.
