How do I cancel my Merchant Services Account?

Good morning, @tqfi,

 

We're sorry to see you go, but I would be happy to help you with closing your account.  You have several options:

 

 

You can now log in to your account and cancel it from there. Here's how:

  1. Open this link and enter your login information: Merchant Service Center
  2. Go to Account and select Account Profile.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the Account Cancellation section. 

If you can't see this option and have not processed transactions in the last 90 days, follow these steps to cancel your Merchant account:

  1. Submit your cancellation request in writing.  The following details are required:
    • Business name
    • Account number
    • Reason for closing
    • Signature of the individual who opened the account

 

        2. Fax or mail your cancellation request to:

Fax:        866 390-0010 Mail: QuickBooks Payments Attn: Customer Retention 21215 Burbank Blvd.Woodland Hills, CA  91367

If you've processed transactions in the past 90 days, please call our QuickBooks Payments Department. They will verify your account information and process the cancellation for you.

I'm not  Closing the Company I'm only cancelling the Merchant Cc card intake  I thought it was a way to change payment that was behind use bank acct to pay or use pay pal to as a user just did it realized what i did want it cancelled. What I just added today company remain open

How do I cancel my Merchant Services Account?

I'd be glad to help you out by sharing possible scenarios I could think of.

 

Are you trying to unlink your Merchant account in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT)? If yes, you can go to the Product Information window and remove your Merchant account from there. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In your QBDT account, click F2 on your keyboard. This will open the Product Information window.
  2. Press Ctrl + A on your keyboard again to get a prompt to clear your AuthID.
  3. Select Yes to confirm.

However, if you want to change the account deposit payments, you can sign in to your Merchant Service account. Let me guide you how.

 

Please know that QuickBooks can't deposit payment into these types of accounts:

 

  • PayPal
  • Lines of credit
  • Mutual fund accounts
  • Government accounts
  • Credit card checks
  • Routing numbers used for wire transfers
  • Paper draft accounts
  • Any non-transactional account

To proceed, follow the steps below to change your deposit payments:

 

  1. Sign in to Merchant Service Center.
  2. Go to the Account menu, then select Account Profile.
  3. In the Deposit Account Information section, click Edit.
  4. Fill out the New bank account section
  5. In the Routing Number field, enter your bank's routing number. 
  6. In the Account Number field, enter the number of the account you want to change to. Enter it again in the Confirm Account Number field.
  7. Make sure the name in the Account Holder/Doing Business As field matches the bank account owner's name exactly.
  8. Select an option from the Reason for this account change dropdown.
  9. When you're ready, select Submit.
