Hello, how do I change the date of a single check deposit that was included in a bulk of multiple check deposits, so that I can reconcile correctly for that month?
I'll help you out, IronHorse3282.
You'll have to delete the deposit instead of changing the date. Then, re-enter the deposits and make sure the dates are correct. This will help you reconcile the account correctly.
Just follow RenjolynC's steps on how to find the deposit, click More, then Delete.
Once done, re-enter the deposits with the correct dates. Then, reconcile the account.
If you have additional questions, feel free to get back to this thread. Keep safe!
What happen if I don't delete and reenter the deposit instead I go in chart of account and change the deposit date?
Thanks,
Calysta
Hello,
What will happen if I go to chart of account, find the deposit, and change the deposit date without delete and recreate the deposit?
Thanks,
Hi there, Beginner21.
It's nice to see you here in the QuickBooks Community. I'll share information about how deposit or transactions works in QuickBooks Online.
If the deposit entry is already reconciled and you made any changes to it, the whole reconciliation statement will be inaccurate. That said, it causes your account differences and not balance. If that's the case, you'll have to unreconciled the entry or delete the deposit instead of changing the date. Then, re-enter deposits and make sure the dates are correct.
You can refer to this article on how you can unreconciled an individual transaction from a completed reconciliation so you're able to make any adjustments: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
However, if the deposit is not yet reconciled, you can go to the Chart of accounts page and look for the deposit to change the transaction date. Please note that this will not affect your account. For further details on how to account register section works, you can click this article: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers.
Please open this article to view steps on how you can find or look at a specific payment you expected to see on the Bank Deposit page: Find missing payments you want to deposit in the Bank Deposit window.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help. Reach out to me directly if you have other concerns, please know that I’m here to make sure you’re taken care of.
