Hi @lori71

Welcome to the Community. You'll need to send request through this site: Security Limit Increase Requests. I'd suggest you read through the Request Tips before clicking the Add New Request link.

Once done, your application will be reviewed within 1-2 business days from the time you requested it, but the turnaround time of approval depends on the increase amount requested.

For future reference, you can also read through this article: Direct Deposit service agreement. It'll help you learn about how direct deposit service works and their limitations.

Feel free to visit us again if you have more questions about increasing your direct deposit limit. We're always delighted to help.

I have asked for an increase in limits, and after 2 days, I received an email stating they need more time, and last 6 bank records, I sent that and have not heard in 2 weeks.

I had to back out my highest earners, and still cut a paper check to them!

Why am I being asked to get approval on an increase when I've been paying myself the same amount since February?

Hello, @Doug Rozsa.

I am here to share some information about the direct deposit limit in QuickBooks.

When processing direct deposit transactions within QuickBooks, the limits are based on payroll submission date, not paycheck date. Also, there are 3 types of direct deposit limit, one for the company, one for the employees, and another for vendors/contractors.

  • Per payroll means the total amount of direct deposits for all your employees or contractors paid in a 6-day period.
  • Per person means the direct deposit amount for one employee or contractor paid in a 14-day period.

You can read through this article to learn more about direct deposit limits when you process payroll: Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit.

That being said, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. A specialist can securely look up your account to verify the status of your direct deposit transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click on Contact Us.
  4. Type in your question under Tell us more about your question and click the Search tab.
  5. Click on Start a Message under Here's how to connect with a QuickBooks expert.
