How do I make my customer name show? Keeps showing contact person.

I notice on my sales reports that it shows the "Persons" name and not the company name. I want everything to display the company name I sold to. I add the persons name because they are the one who ordered the product. But the Sales Receipt goes to the company. 98% we use Sales Receipts. 2% invoices.

Hello sgmken,

 

The Display name as field is based on the Company name field or the customer's name field. To make it as a default, you'll have to select the company name from the drop-down menu.

I'm glad to have you here in the Community, sgmken.

 

We have a way to show the customer's company name on the reports instead of the first and last name. It's my pleasure to show you how:

  1. Go to Sales on the left pane and choose Customers at the top.
  2. Select the client's name and hit Edit.
  3. Under Display name as, select the company name.
  4. Hit the Save button.

The name you've selected on the steps above will display on the sales report.

Hi, Thank you for the QUICK response. Do I have to do that EVERY time for each new customer? Isn't there a way I can have QBO do this by default for each new customer entered?
