How do I remove the second payment button from my invoice? There are two "Pay Now" buttons

Good day, therapy2.

I've got some steps to help you remove the other button. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear > Account and Settings.
  2. On the left panel, select Sales.
  3. Scroll down at the bottom, and select the Online delivery.
  4. Choose the Show short summary in email option.
  5. Click Save and then Done.

Once done, you can re-send the invoice to the customer and they will only see one Pay Now button.

I'm also adding this article for reference: Send online invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how it goes, or if you have any other concerns. Stay safe.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @jwilly1111.

To remove the pay now button in the email template, you may change the settings of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear/Settings icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Click Sales tab.
  4. Choose Online delivery.
  5. From the Additional email options for invoices drop-down arrow, select HTML or Plain text.
  6. Hit Save.

Also, QBO has a fresh new set of features that will help business owners like you to find new ways to freshen up your books: Redesigned Banking tab in Business View and Upload bills in Receipt tab. Ya that really doesn't help me much. I really need to access the template for the invoice email so I can edit the function of the "pay now" and "view invoice" button. The default QB options don't work like I need them to. Or is there a way to bypass Quickbooks sending the Invoice emails and send them to my local Outlook for sending? At least in Outlook I can get the emails to look and function like I need them to.

Thanks for getting back to us, @jwilly1111.

Let me share additional insights above the steps provided above by my colleague. If you choose HTML in the Additional email options for invoices drop-down arrow, it will show View invoice in your customer's email once they view it. Though, if you select the Online invoice, then it will show the Pay now button.

Since you wanted to remove them both from the invoice template, you can choose the Plain text under this drop-down instead.

However, the option to edit the Pay now button or the View invoice is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Also, the ability to bypass this default options in not yet supported in QBO.

In case you need to import your own custom form styles for your invoices or estimates, you follow these steps on how: Import custom form style in QuickBooks.

This feature will help you reflect your brand identity into your sales forms with less effort and time.
