Some of my contract indicate they didn't receive their 1099 in the mail or no longer have the link to download the. How can I resent the 1099 invites. Our 1099s were sent using Intuit 1099 E-File Service.
You can resend the invite using your QuickBooks account, GSOA.
Let's verify if your contractor's email addresses is updated first. After, here's how you can resend the invite:

Hello, I am trying to follow these instructions but I don't see a "send a reminder" link by the Contractor's name. Where do I find it please, or why might it be missing? Thank you!
Hi there, @AlexOlsonStudio.
Thanks for joining this thread. Allow me to help provide some additional information on how to resend the 1099 invites for contractors.
If you do not have the option to resend the invite, chances are, the Personal details of your contractor have been completed. You'll need to send an invite to existing contractors to make the Send a reminder link available.
For additional reference, you can check this article and scroll-down to Resend the invite: Invite a contractor to add their own 1099 tax info.
If you need further assistance with the steps, I encourage you to contact our QuickBooks Online Chat Support. They have additional tools to pull up your account and do a remote session.

This will get you on the right track! Feel me in if you have additional questions about the 1099. I'm always here to help.
I have followed these instructions, but I do not see Send a Reminder next to the contractors name. There is a green drop down box that shows Create expense or Create bill. What am I missing?
I'd like to add an additional information on how it works, dtiern01.
The resend email invite will only show if you haven't entered any personal information about the contractor.
We're just here if you have further concerns.
If the contractors personal details are deleted, should the resent invite email link be available? I removed the contractors tax id and then it said the invite was sent (without me clicking anything to send it) but the contractor says they did not get anything. So I tried removing the contractors address as well and the resend link is still not available for that contractor.
Hello there, @LHestonTCG.
Thank you for joining this thread. I want to make sure you're able to resend the invitation to your contractor.
If the information is completely set up in QuickBooks Online, you won't have the option to resend the link, as my colleagues mentioned. However, you can resend the link using the Send a reminder link from the contractor's page.
Let's perform a few troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem. To start, access your account using a private browser. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, thus causing unusual responses.
Here are the shortcut keys:
Once logged in, go back to the contractor's page and resend the invitation. Before doing that, make sure that the contractor's email address is correct or updated. Once verified, you can follow the steps listed below.
After clicking the send a reminder option, your contractor will receive an email invitation link. For more information about the process, check out this article: Invite a contractor to add their own 1099 tax info.
Please visit this article: Prepare and file Federal 1099s. This link guides you e-file the 1099 forms and how to update the contractor's email address in QBO.
Let me know if you have other concerns. I'll be here for you. Enjoy your day.
I've seen these same instructions on several thread and it does not work. I've tried it. I am also working in the QuickBooks Online Desktop app and it doesn't work from there either. Is there every going to be a resolve to this?
Welcome back, @LHestonTCG.
Thanks for keeping us updated with the results. If your screen looks like the image below:
Then, you'll need to enter the Personal details of the contractor. Here's how:
Once done, the Send email link will show up, and you can now resend the invite.

Thanks for reaching out, @timmajinc. I'm happy to help you figure this out.
If an email option isn't showing, that indicates that there isn't a valid email address in the contractor's profile. To check this, follow these super easy steps:
That's it! I also recommend checking out all of the other great resources provided by my colleague's in this thread.

Hello there, timmajinc.
The Send a reminder link indicates that you invited and emailed your contractors to complete their profile. However, they haven’t entered it yet, thus, you want to remind them.
Those that don’t have the option means that we've already entered their personal details or they’ve completed it through the email invite.
The contractor help articles below will give you more details on how we set up and track contractors:
Please let me know if you need anything else.
I think this whole thread has been misunderstood...
It seems to me that these people (and myself) are having trouble sending the completed/filed 1099-MISC to their contractors... NOT... trouble in obtaining personal/business information from their contractors.
To be specific:
How do you send a link to let your contractor access their completed and filed 1099.
NOTE: I used the 1099 service through QBO, but several of my contractors are having trouble downloading the completed form for their taxes.
You'll have to send an invitation to your contractor so they'll be able to access their completed and filed 1099. Let me guide you how.
Please check this article for more information and detailed steps: Invite A Contractor to Add Their Own 1099 Tax Info.
You can also print the 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO): How To Print 1099s.
If there's anything else you need, let me know so that I can help. I'll be right here to assist you anytime.
I see the problem now:
Unless you have invited the contractor to enter their own 1099 details to begin with, there is no way to invite them to view their completed 1099 form. In other words, if you do it via paper (arguably, how most business will do it), and have them fill out a W9, then enter the information yourself, you cannot invite them to fill in any information; at least, neither I nor my colleagues have been able to find a way to do so.
The workaround seems to be to delete a key piece of their information, such as their S.S. #/Tax ID, and then invite them to fill that in; but I must say that seems clunky. Furthermore, I have heard from more than one of my contractors that working through the online system is very inconsistent. Only a few of them have been able to successfully upload information. Mostly, I get emails saying they couldn't upload their W4 info, or else they had trouble uploading their bank info, or else they just couldn't access the tool altogether.
So, some solutions I would suggest:
1) Take a look at the mechanics of the contractor access to the 1099/contractor "fillable forms" online; there seems to be some issues there.
2) Make a separate link for sending completed 1099 forms to contractors, without having to go through the "workaround" I described above.
We appreciate your feedback, @okshakes.
I'll take note of this and will be sending this to our product engineers. They can consider this option added in the future update.
In the meantime, you'll want to consider working on the workaround. I'll be sharing our page about income and expenses for additional reference.

This has been a terrible experience for both our contractors and our business. I'm unable to resend invites, by trying the hack described where you delete a key piece of information, it won't let me save, as it says it's required information.
Thanks for joining this conversation, @street1. I understand that you also need to resend the 1099 invites for your contractors. To clarify, QuickBooks will notify your contractors to let them view their 1099s online as soon as you submit the final forms to the IRS.
On the other hand, your contractors can log in to their QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) free account and go to the Documents section to view and print your 1099. Refer to this link for more information: 1099s in QuickBooks.
Just in your case your contractors still didn't see the 1099 form in the Document section, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Customer Support team. They have the additional tools that can help verify and pull up your data and process the invites again to your contractors.
Feel free to message again if you have additional concerns. We're always delighted to help.
Having the same issue. The contractor has stated that the link that was originally sent out was expired. I have followed all the instructions in this thread but cannot get the resend link to appear.
I'm glad to see you here in the Community, @RealtyInOrlando.
Since you already tried the steps provided by my colleagues, I suggest contacting our support team to verify what causes the issue and fix it for you. They have the tools to pull up your account and do a remote session.

This is beyond frustrating. When I remove the key information (SSN), the contractor no longer shows up in the tab for contractors. This is a lose/lose situation, and I now I am not convinced the contractors ever received their 1099's, since the comment that they would only receive them if they initially filled in their own info. It would have been SUPREMELY BENEFICIAL to know this back in January when they were filed.
Thank you for reaching out to us, tlynnkev.
Once you submit the final forms, they will be notified that they can view their 1099s. You can also access them between January 1 through April 30 at any time by logging into your 1099 E-file Service account. Here are the steps:
1. Go to https://iop.intuit.com/1099/login
2. Click View past forms
