How to search by customers check number?

We can use the advanced search, nancyl.

Let's press Ctrl + F simultaneously on your keyboard to appear the Find window. On the Filter section, search and select Number. Enter the range of the check number in the Number fields (example: check # 1001-1005), then click Find button. On the list of results, you'll also see the customer's name under the Name column. Double-click on the result to open the transaction.

Aside from that, you can pull up the Transaction List by Customer report. We can customize it to see the data you need.

  1. Go to the Reports tab. Hover over Customer & Receivables and select Transaction List by Customer.
  2. Click on Customize Report. From the Filters tab, search and select Number.
  3. Enter the range of the check number in the Number fields and click OK.

I've included this article to learn more about Accounts Receivable workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.
