How to use invoice template as sales order template

Good day to you, @talk2khurram.

Invoice templates have different information than a sales order. That being said, you'll want to create a template type for your Sales Order. Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. Go to the Lists menu.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Click the Templates drop-down menu and select New.
  4. Thick Sales Order as the Template Type and click OK.
  5. Customize the form to your preference and click OK when done.

You can also read through this article for more details: Use and customize form templates.

Then to use the template you’ve created:

  1. Go to the Customers menu and select Create Sales Orders.
  2. From the Template drop-down menu, select the template you’ve created. 1.JPG
  3. Fill in the details in your sales order and click Save and Close.

Let me also add this article that you can utilize for your future reference in case you need to convert your sales order to an invoice: Create an invoice in QuickBooks Desktop. Read the Create an invoice for a sales order section for the complete details.

I'll be around if you have other queries about creating templates in your QBDT software. I'd be more than happy to work with you. Have a great day ahead!
