I have an old amex card that has been disconnected from the amex side, but still shows up as one of my bank accounts in qbo. How do I remove it? There is no balance.

Hi patrickzelaya,

You can disconnect the bank account by following these steps:

  1. On the left panel, click Banking.
  2. From the Banking page, click the Edit (pencil) icon of the account you want to disconnect.
  3. In the Account window, check the Disconnect this account on save box.
  4. Click Save and Close.

Note: Once the account is disconnected, all transactions will be removed. If there are transactions that you still need to add in QuickBooks, please make sure to add them before following the steps above.

Here's also an article for more information: Disconnect or delete an account from the Downloaded Transactions page.

I'll be around if you need more help with QuickBooks. Thanks.

Hello Patrick, to delete one of accounts, please, click on Gear icon at the upper right corner, select Chart of Accounts tab. Click on arrow next to 'Run Report' field for preferable account, click on Delete. I attached screenshot to show how it looks.
