I received a payment and don't know who it's from. How do I find out who it's from?

 Hi there, @corya-croft.

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community page. I can share with you some steps on how to identify where or whom the payment is coming from.

If QuickBooks Payments is enabled from the preferences, the system automatically marks the invoice as paid. To review the customer name who paid the amount, you can check it from your invoice list.

  1. Open your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.
  2. Click on Invoices at the left pane.
  3. Review your paid invoices from the Invoices window.

To learn more about the automatic payments in QBSE, feel free to open this article: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If still, you aren't able to identify the person behind the payment, you may reach out to our Merchant of GoPayment Support for additional help. This way, a representative can review the transaction and your account securely. Here's the link: Contact Payments Support.

For additional tips, while managing your sales transactions in QBSE, you can as well read the topics from our QBSE Sales and customer help article.

Please let me know if you need further assistance with this. I've got your back and am always happy to help. Thanks for reaching out, wishing you and your business all the best.
