Hi there, jrgbd1.

 

Connecting and syncing third-party applications are done through the Apps menu in QuickBooks Online. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Apps menu.
  2. Look for Expensify under the Find Apps tab and click on it.
  3. Click Get app now.
  4. Click Connect once routed to different page.

Import expenses Expensify

Now in Oct 2020, this is no longer what works.  when you follow this guide, you are dumped into the Expensify app but never have an option to "connect" in Quickbooks.  Is the sync with Expensify no longer supported by Quickbooks?

Hello, Paul Nordin. 

 

I've checked here on my end and have talked to our developer team. They haven't received any information that the Expensify app will no longer support by QuickBooks. That said, Let's isolate this case by checking if this is related to your browser or not. 

 

There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses. We can start by accessing your account in a private browser. This mode doesn't save your searches, visited pages, log in details, and cookies.         

 

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift  
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift  
  • Safari: press Command Shift   

Once you're in the Private / Incognito Window, sign in to your QuickBooks account, and click the Apps and search for Expensify, you have the option to set up your app by clicking the learn more. If it works, then you can go back to your original browser and clear the cache. Alternatively, you can use other compatible browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.

Import expenses Expensify

Hi Ailene,

I have tried this in both Safari, and Chrome, and with the QB Online for OSX app.  I just tried it in Private mode, and there is no difference.   The process is the same as you have outlined in your message.  But when I click the "Get Started Now" it takes me to a sign-up marketing screen for Expensify, & QB Online.  There does not seem to a link anywhere to actually start configuring app sync.  

I am already have accounts for Expensify and QB Online.  So that's not what I'm looking for.  I'm trying to setup the syncing.

I'd recommend contacting Expensify Support so they can further assist you with the setup. 

 

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Go to this link: https://apps.intuit.com/app/apps/home
  2. Enter Expensify in the Search address.
  3. Select Expensify.
  4. Under the App information tab, choose Contact.
