Memorized Transactions for Monthly Utilities

Hello,

I can't seem to find an answer to this.  I have to pay multiple utility bills every month and have setup memorized transactions for the entries.  But utility bills have a different payment amount each month based on usage.

Is there a "best practice" way to setup memorized monthly transactions for bills that amounts will be different month to month?

Thank you!

Thanks for dropping by the Community, Isaiah58Financial.

The dates of your memorized transactions are the ones that will change every month. You can manually edit the amounts once you get a reminder every time it's due.

You can check your Reminders set up so you can edit the amount ahead of time. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences
  2. From the left menu, click Reminders
  3. Select Company Preferences
  4. Choose and modify your preference.
  5. Click OK

Keep me posted if there's anything else you need help with. Have a great day!

Re: Memorized Transactions for Monthly Utilities

Hello,

I was already doing that but was hoping there was a more "automated way" that would work when I go to create the transactions.  Something like, could it ask me if the amount is correct as it goes to post the memorized transaction and change it as it pops up to post

Re: Memorized Transactions for Monthly Utilities

Thanks for your prompt reply, Isaiah58Financial.

The option to have an automated way in creating the transactions in QuickBooks is unavailable.

I'm taking note of your suggestion and will pass this on to our product developers. This way, they might consider adding this option in a future update.

You can post anytime if you have any other concerns.
