Partial Bill received against a purchase order

I am having an issue when a partial payment bill comes in for a purchase order when the amount is a percentage prepayment but the amount is not evenly divisible by the required amount. For example I issue an invoice for $2.51 and I have to prepay 50%.  The invoice received is for $1.15 but QuickBooks if I take the total item and multiply it by 0.5 it rounds up.  This is always a small amount in some rare instances the numbers of off a bit more but then I always the error that the transaction is not in balance.  IS there a way to easily correct this as it is a minor issue but creates significant problems and I am not sure how to proceed.  Any help is appreciated.

I can see how this rounding issue affects the accuracy of your data, @freddefesc.

At the moment, QuickBooks Desktop rounds up to two decimal places only that sometimes causes penny differences. As a workaround, you can update or enter the payment amount manually to prevent this.
