Re: Payments

Thank you for reaching out to us, @CayceMB.

I’m here to help delete the payment posted to the wrong account.

May I know if there’s an error message when voiding or deleting the payment? You should be able to perform this function in QuickBooks without any problem.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Accounting from the left navigation and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account and click View register under the Action column.
  3. Look for the payment and select it.
  4. Click Delete
  5. Hit Yes on the message prompt to delete the payment.

If you’re still unable to delete the payment, perform some basic troubleshooting to fix it.

It’s possible that local internet files are the reason behind this. Cache tends to hold onto information, and over the time causes issues in your web pages like errors inside QuickBooks.

Let’s first verify by loading the site using a different browser or a private window. Here’s how:

  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer)
  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)
  • Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox)

Make sure to clear your default browser’s cache to continue using it without any problem. Here’s an article to help you with the process: Delete or Disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser.

That should do it. Let me know if this works out for you, I’m always here to help. Wishing you the best!
