Is there any way to set up purchase order internal approvals before sending out to vendors within quickbooks online?

Hey there, jfmartin67. Welcome to the Community!

I'd recommend using eRequisition. It allows you to use the data from your company to create purchase requests, then send them for approval. The receiver will be notified via email that one is ready to be approved, and with just a few clicks they'll be able to review all relevant information and make their decision. If approved, a new purchase order will be created your books.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows integration with a number of third-party apps and software. You can search for an app that can set up sales order approvals by going to the Apps menu. Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click Apps from the left menu.
  3. In the Find Apps tab, search for a keyword (Sales Order Approvals). QuickBooks will show you the list of the apps.
  4. Select the App.

QBO doesn't offer the feature yet. If the functionality is critical to your business and you are hesitant to have an additional app, consider migrating to another accounting app. One app offers the multi-level approval for purchase transactions
