QB desktop custom invoice template won't add second page.

I am working in Quickbooks desktop (2015) and I need to add a second page to my custom invoice template. The second page is just for text (rights and obligations related to the invoice). I have been unable to get the layout designer to create a second page or find any specific instructions on how to do this (apart from an article that suggested adjusting the bottom margin and dragging fields from the first page to take them below the margin, which has not worked), though as far as I can see multiple page invoices should be possible as they are mentioned in articles about other things. Any advice gratefully received, either on how to get a second page on the template or whether there is an alternative way to automatically issue an additional page of text alongside every invoice.

I can provide you some information about adding a second page to your customize invoice via QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Customizing and adding a second page to your invoice for rights and obligations is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

The Layout  Designer lets you add or remove header/columns from the template, allows you to move and resize items and information on your template.

I would like to second this feature to be added to the layout designer.  It is very common to have a terms and conditions appended to the invoice, which I have to attach manually everytime that I send out an email invoice (as an attachment).  Please put this as a priority in Quickbooks enhancements requests.  Thank you.

We send out invoices via email and need a 2nd page to add our W-9. So pre-printing etc. will not work and I tried the attachment on the invoice, but it doesn't save the attachment to the PDF it only attaches if you use an email.  I need one PDF with an invoice on page 1 and my form on page 2. This can not be that hard to make available.

Right now, the only option is to add the W-9 copy as an attachment manually together with the invoice via Email. I'm personally taking note of your request regarding having the ability to add a second page for the information you need.

 

For now, you can make sure you have the latest release to ensure you have the new features and updates on your QuickBooks. In case you need the steps, here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Click Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Go to the Update Now tab.
  4. Put a check mark beside Reset Update.
  5. Click Get Updates.

Not having the ability to do a 2 page or more template is not good!!!! We need 2 pages for our legal Disclaimer & Warning!!!

Has the ability to add a second page to the customer invoice been resolved?  We need the 2nd page for warranty and legal disclaimer.  I haven't found any real solution yet.

We are also in the need of a second page for our invoice.  We use it for warranty and legal disclaimer.  I'm using QB Enterprise.

At the moment, QuickBooks invoices and its templates are single-page documents. If you have large blocks of standard text, such as legal notifications or disclaimers that require a two-page invoice, you can adjust the margins on the first page to force a second page.

 

Perform the steps below to customize the invoice template:

 

  1. On your company file, go to Lists then Templates.
  2. Right-click on the default template you're using and select Edit Template.
  3. Go to the Additional Customization section. This is where you can add or remove QuickBooks fields from the template.
  4. Next, click on the Layout Designer button that provides full control over the template contents and layout.
  5. Click the Margins button at the bottom and change the bottom margin to a number that's equal to the size of the area at the top of the second page in which you can place QuickBooks data fields, such as 2 inches, for example.
  6. Select No on the prompt.
  7. Click the Out button on the toolbar several times to zoom out until you can see the entire contents of the template on your screen.
  8. Adjust the layout at the bottom of the first page and the top of the second page by dragging fields to their new locations. Place data fields you want to appear on the second page between the dotted line and the solid line at the bottom of the invoice template.
  9. Select the Add icon and choose Text Box. Type your standard text into the text box, and place it at the bottom of the first page or at the top of the second page. Add two text boxes to place one in each location.
  10. Hit  OK to save your layout changes.
