Select the Account menu and choose Account Profile.
Scroll down and click the Close Account button.
Follow the on-screen instructions to successfully turn off the merchant services.
I've added some screenshots for your additional reference.
Once done, QuickBooks will send you an email within one business day that confirms your QuickBooks Payment account is closed. To know more about the availability of the data after you close your QuickBooks payments account, you can check out this article: Cancel your QuickBooks Payments subscription.
QB’s support search is annoyingly inept. I want to know how to turn off payments online and merchant services. Thank you.
Thanks for following this post, @astanleycpa. It could be that your local internet cache files are already full. That's why the buttons aren't working.
We can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this issue by accessing your account in a private window. This mode doesn't record any activity on your local device.
Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
Control + Option + P (Safari).
If all the close and edit buttons work, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache to remove temporary files and prevent unexpected behavior. You also want to use other compatible browsers in QuickBooks Online.
If the same thing happens, you can contact our Customer Support team to help you check and identify what's causing this to happen.
I'll be here if you have other questions with QuickBooks. Don't hesitate to comment below. Take care.
