Quickbooks is not accepting our credit card information?

Let me help you get through with this, @bsaathoff.

If you're trying to update your credit card information and QuickBooks is not accepting it, then here are the possible reasons why:

  • The account number is invalid or the credit card is expired.
  • The account is past due or is over-limit.
  • Card listed in the "negative file". It could be stolen or lost.
  • The card-issuing bank won't authorized the card electronically.
  • The card was declined, with no other information provided by the processor.
  • The billing address in QuickBooks Online does not match the address on your credit card statement.
  • The card billing address isn't US based.

Please also take note that QBO does not automatically rerun the card. You must first update your credit card for QBO subscription to reactivate the account.

In case this concern is related to banking-errors, then we can follow the steps provided in this article: How to manually update an account to fix banking errors.

Quickbooks is not accepting our credit card information?

None of these reasons are correct.  I have attempted to go in and edit my account and I found that the CVV code was blank.  I assume they don’t need that number but I tried to put it in anyway.  In the blanki got a big black circle with a line through it.  So ide died to just delete the card and start over.  Then all it does is ping and won’t let me do anything.  Taxes are due today and I can’t get into my account to pay them.

I wish I could make it better, @Dknight.

Let's perform some browser troubleshooting steps so you can access your account and update your billing information successfully.

To begin with, you can log in to your account via incognito or private window of your browser so we can check if this is related to your current browser or not.

To do so:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Once you can successfully access your account, you can clear your regular browser's cache so you can start browsing from scratch. However, if the issue persists, you pull up your company using our other supported browsers.

Lastly, here's a few articles you can read to learn more about how you can manage your account: Help Articles for QuickBooks Online.
