2 Memo fields on vendor bill forms - 2019 QB is showing the 1 I don't use

I used to put the info on the memo field in the bottom of form and the info would show up when I needed to look back and find how it's filed on my computer. Now the memo information on the top of the input form only shows up so I have no history I can see any longer. How do I switch it back?  See the attachment

Yes, you're right. Only the memo field from your vendor bill shows up on the Transaction tab of your Vendors Information window. Since you can put on different memo details per transaction on your line item, QuickBooks instead uses the memo field from your vendor Bill to show up.

Yes, been on with QB for a long time today!  BTW, beware, initially after posting this, I got a call from people who said they were from QB but weren't - scammers trying to sell 'support plans'.  Hung up and got the real QB people to call me - legit.  And the agent tried all kinds of things.  Unfortunately, that feature isn't a part of 2019 - only the general memo.  

 

I submitted a request to fix it or have both 'memo' areas as an option to display when pulling up the vendor. Hopefully that can be done as an update in the near future so it will be easy for me to have past history.

Thank you!  They reached out to me pretty quickly after I posted on the Q&A forum so I thought it was official but apparently not.  I did tell the 'real' QB Agent about it and he said he would advise internally.

 

And I did sent feedback / suggestion on resolving the issue so I think we are all good for now.  Appreciate all you guys do!

Please, what is the fix? I am entering batch transactions and prefer the memo field that gets filled in to fill in both places, but only fills the top memo section.

When entering Batch vendor bills, the memo you've entered will be displayed on the Memo field above the transactions tab. Also, this information will be included on the check when you issue a payment for the bill. I've got a screenshot for your reference.

While the memo entered on each line item included in the bill is specific to the item itself. It could denote as a full description or specification of the item. This will not be included when you print the check payment.

 

Currently, there's no direct way to automatically enter the memo on the transaction field. What you can do for now is to manually enter it. You can refer to this article for more detailed steps: Enter bills.
