Account for amazon need credit for payment with actual credit card

I have a dummy bank account set up for my Amazon account.  When they deposit into my actual Checking Account, I transfer what has been credited and debited from the Amazon bank account into my actual Checking Account.  However, if there is a negative amount with Amazon, they charge my Credit Card.  I need a way to have a "credit" in my Amazon dummy checking account in QBO that will account for my actual Credit Card charge...but it needs to balance my actual AP account...I have tried a negative Amazon bill but QBO will not allow.

Account for amazon need credit for payment with actual credit card

This method did not work to balance my accounts.

It changed my AP, it also was a payment on my dummy Amazon Account instead of a credit.

Here is the steps:

I paid Amazon $37.93 on my actual Credit Card Account.

It shows in my Credit Card register as it should.

I need to have it show correctly there, but I need to show at the same time a credit on my dummy Amazon Account without affecting my actual AP account.

I know a way on how you can credit the payment in your Amazon dummy checking account, wtblack.

You can create a Vendor Credit transaction and choose the Amazon dummy account in the Category column. Then, the created transaction will be posted to the Account Payable (A/P) account.

For more details, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Plus New icon on the left side menu.
  2. Choose Vendor Credit.
  3. Select a vendor name in the Vendor drop-down.
  4. Choose the Amazon dummy bank account in the Category drop-down button.
  5. Enter the details of the transaction in the Description column.
  6. Enter the actual amount in the Amount (USD) field.
  7. Click Save and close.

Then, go to Amazon bank register to see the details of the Vendor Credit you've created (I've attached a screenshot for your reference).

To learn more about creating a vendor credit, you can check out this article: Enter a credit from a vendor.

Please reply to this post if you need anything else with recording credits in your account. I'd be glad to help.

I appreciate your feedback for trying the steps above, wtblack.

We can create a check or an expense transaction to credit your dummy Amazon account without affecting the A/P account. I’ll show you how:

  1. Click the Create (+) icon.
  2. Under VENDORS, choose either Check or Expense. (I’ll be using a Check as an example)
  3. Select Payee.
  4. In the Bank Account field, select your dummy Amazon account.
  5. Select the credit card account on the Category details section.
  6. Enter the Amount.
  7. Click Save and Close.

Here's a screenshot as an example:
