Join nowWhy was I charged $500 for my annual subscription?
That was far more than last year’s subscription price.

Good Morning,
I was charged $299.95 on March 28, 2019 for my annual subscription fee. I see an additional charge of $299.95 that posted on my account April 28, 2019. I was able to contact support 24 hours per day, seven days per week for questions that I had. I need a phone number that I can put on file that I can call with questions. The current phone number that I have been using for years is no longer active.
Thank you,
Lisa

I'm only a post away if you have any questions about QuickBooks. Have a wonderful day!
Why do I need to pay $600+ for an annual subscription for my Quickbooks. I paid for the software when I bought the desktop version. I can never get a straight answer when I try and contact Quickbooks. They make it sound like you will lose everything you have in Qucikbooks if you don't subscribe to their every increasing "annual fees" I don't use payroll so there is no update needed for current tax law changes.
So what does a person get by paying the increasing "annual fee"? Will my Quickbooks still work if I don't pay it since it is a desktop version that I paid for? I only use it for my personal checking account and a couple of rental units. I don't see why $600+ will get me. I didn't get anything new when I paid the $596 fee last year.
Very frustrated. I have used Quickbooks for 30+ years and haven't ever seen anything like this before.

I know it's significant to know why there's a price increase in QuickBooks Desktop annual subscription, slrichardson83. Let me share some information about this matter.
The annual pricing for QBDT products and services has changed this year. It's due to some improvements made within the software to meet every customer's needs.
You can refer to this blog to see the changes made and get some answers to the most frequently asked questions.
On the other hand, since it is an annual subscription, once you don't pay or the subscription expires, it will inactivate your license, and won't be able to use it to manage your business. However, you can still view your data in a View-only mode for a year.
I'll attach here an article to learn more about this matter: Renew your subscription or use view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, you can switch from Desktop to QuickBooks Online to manage your business online with no additional fees for access.
You can also compare QuickBooks Online and Desktop through this link.
Let us know if you have other questions about the new price increase or other concerns with QuickBooks Desktop. We're always here to lend you a hand and guide you.
You have QB Desktop 2023 Pro Plus for single user, correct?
When is your license renewal due date?
I have Desktop Pro Plus 2022 for a single user.
Yes, I have a single user software but it is Desktop Pro Plus 2022.
When is your subscription due?
You don't need to manage payroll, correct?
Contact me in private and we can recommend one option to keep using QB Desktop with a non-subscription license.
