Are there fees (like ACH) when client payments go to the QB Cash Account instead of my bank account?

When my clients pay me via Quickbooks Payments, I get a fee of $10 for each ACH.  I am wondering if I have the payments go to my Quickbooks Cash Account instead of directly to my bank, do I still get charged the ACH fee?

Trying to reduce my fees.

Thank you,

Jason

Thanks for reaching out to the Community space, Port107.

Let me share information with you about the QuickBooks Payment fees that you get.

Every time you process a transaction, there's a fee that corresponds to it depends on how you processed the payment. It could be through one of the following:

  • Monthly fee
  • ACH bank transfer
  • Credit card - swiped
  • Credit card - online invoice
  • Credit card - keyed

Once you received a payment, it will directly deposit on the account you set up. Thus, there's no such thing as QuickBooks Cash account.

For more information about processing fees, take a look at this article: What are the fees for QuickBooks Payments?.

I appreciate the reply.  But if there is no such thing as a Quickbooks Cash Account, what's this describing?

Let me sort things out for you, @Port107.

There is no such thing as a QuickBooks cash account within QuickBooks Online (QBO) since the undeposited funds stand for that.

QB Cash Account is your payment account where all the customer's payments are stored and where fees will be taken.

It's advisable to store first the money in your payment account to wait for a clearing. This is to ensure that no disputes will be taken.

You’re incorrect. Quickbooks has a bank account now. It earns 1% APY, has zero fees for instant deposit on many transactions (that would usually be a 1% fee), and doesn’t have any transaction fees. It does not, however, save you on your payment fees. You’ll still have to pay the scheduled percentages and fees for payments you receive through credit cards and ACH.

I apologize. When I replied I thought I was replying to the comment saying "let me straighten things out for you," and that's why I said "you are incorrect." Unfortunately, my comment doesn't appear to have shown up under the right comment so it looks like I'm saying the question is incorrect, or something like that. Sorry, still getting used to this comment system.
