Join nowhow much is the fee to accept payment with a credit card
Hi there, RTP Code.
Thank you for contacting the Community for support. I'd be happy to offer some insight on your question about the fees for accepting credit card payments.
When you register for a Merchant Services account in QuickBooks Desktop, the processing fees vary a little depending on whether you decide to pay as you go or pay monthly. If your customer chooses to pay an invoice with their card, the fee would be 3.5% + 30¢ (pay as you go), or 3.3% + 30¢ (monthly).
This article offers details on accepting customer credit card payments: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/products/qb-desktop-payments/.
I wish you and your business continued success. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I've been a proadvisor since 2000. I am a pay as you go merchant services user. Just this month I was assessed a PCI fee of $9.95? Did something change with the program for ProAdvisor's?
Hi dso0216,
For more information about PCI, please see this article: PCI DSS Compliance Services. With regard to the PCI fee, I'd suggest contacting the ProAdvisor Team.

Thank you for you quick response RenjolynC. I understand the PCI charge and the reason. However, as I stated I am a certified ProAdvisor. I checked the benefits section of the PA website and the information is the same "no monthly fee if pay as you go". I had an issue with this fee when the PCI was first implemented. I don't argue with the value but for those of us who aren't using the service within the software we should not be subject to the fee. If this is no longer a benefit to PA's I'll need to discountinue the service since I do very few transactions during the year and all are pay as you go. There are too many alternatives out there now that have no fee regardless.
And I find it typical in this blog and other Intuit blogs (and when I call support for that matter) that no one seems to know what a ProAdvisor is or what our benefits are. Why is that?
2.9 % + .25 cents authorizations fee.
