Credit card payment alerts

Where is the link to manage e-mail alerts for credit card payments?  I know I have used this in the past under account/setting and alerts but that option is no longer there.

Credit card payment alerts

Hey there, @giorfido.

Glad to see you here in the Community. I'm here to help make sure that you can manage your email alerts for credit card payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks Payments allows you to get alerts for deposits and chargebacks through email. To manage these alerts, you can toggle this option on your Merchant Service, which is done through your QBO Account and Settings. From there, you'll see the link that'll route you to the Merchant Services Center website.

Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Go to Payments tab.
4. Click the link to go to the Merchant Services Center.
5. On the Merchant page (payments), click the Account menu.
6. Choose Settings and Alerts, then change the Receive Credit Card Deposit Notification to Yes or No depending on what you prefer.
7. Select Yes and Save Changes again.

If you're unable to see the link, you can log in directly to the Merchant Services Center website by going to the following link: https://merchantcenter.intuit.com. Once signed in, do the same steps that I've provided above (proceed to steps 5-7). On the other hand, if your customer is set up with a recurring charge in the Merchant Service, you can check this article for the steps on how to turn on or off the email notification: Turn on or off Customer Notification Emails for Recurring Payments.

While we haven't received any reported cases similar to what you've encountered, try using the incognito or private browsing mode next time you're going to log into the Merchant Services Center through QBO. Your browser's settings or old cache might have caused this unexpected behavior while using QBO. If it works using the Private Window, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to remove temporary internet files on your computer.
Please refer to this article for more information: Delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser.

To use Private Window, here's how:

  • On your keyboard, press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox or Internet Explorer).
  • Press Control + Option + P (Safari).

That should do it! Please let me know how it goes by leaving a comment. I'd be glad to provide additional help should you have any questions.Take care.

This doesn't work anymore. The alerts settings are not here. Where can I find them. Both my client and I cannot find these settings here.

Credit card payment alerts

Hello, businesscycle.

I understand that you want to set an alert notification for credit card payments. I'll share additional information so you'll be able to receive it when your customer processes their payments.

Let's make sure the payment notification email delivery is properly set in the Account and Settings. I'll show you how.

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Select Account and Settings.
  4. Choose the Company menu.
  5. Scroll down to the Contact info section.
  6. Click the Pencil icon to edit your email address.
  7. Pick the Save button.
  8. Hit Done.

Then, you can log in to your merchant account since you haven't seen the option in your QuickBooks Online account.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your Merchant Service Center.
  2. Go to Account.
  3. Click the Settings & Alerts.
  4. In the Email Alerts section, choose Yes for each notification you'd like to receive.
  5. Tap Yes for the Receive Statement Notification to get an email each month when your payment statement is available.
  6. Enter your email address where you'd like to receive the notification.
  7. Once done, hit Save Changes.

I also encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Payments page for more insight into managing your customer payments.
