Re: I proccessed a customer credit card payment in quickbooks before I connected My bank account....

Hi there, vip11211.

Thanks for checking in with us. I'm here to discuss and share how processing credit card payments works in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Payments that were processed before the account was connected will not go through. You must connect your Payments account to QBO before processing a payment.

Since you've already processed a credit card payment in QuickBooks, you can delete and process a new one. To delete, locate the transaction, click More and choose Delete.

Once done, you can process a credit card payment. I'll walk you through the steps below:

  1. Click the add (+) button at the top of the screen.
  2. Choose Receive Payment (or Sales Receipt, if you prefer).
  3. The transaction page appears. Enter in the details of the payment.
  4. Select an appropriate Payment method. An Enter credit card details button appears below the Payment method menu.
  5. Click the Save or Save and new button.

I'd be delighted to share with you this article as your guide in processing payments in QBO: Process a credit card payment.

Count on me if you have other questions aside from processing credit card payments. It's always my pleasure to help.
