Payment from tenant deposited in wrong account

Hi there, @Skipperoo.

I can help walk you through the process of how to received the transfer payments of your tenants in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Let's use the Received payments feature in QBO and deposit it to the correct account. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Plus icon, then choose Received payments
  2. Selects the tenant's name in the drop-down.
  3. Complete the Payment date and method.
  4. Enter the exact amount.
  5. Choose either Undeposited Funds or Checking account in the Deposit to drop-down.
  6. Tap Save and close

If you're using the undeposited funds, then let's deposit the amount by going to the New icon. Then pick Bank deposit and select the right account in the drop-down. See the sample screenshot below.

Please, click this link for more further information: Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

You also have an option to deposit the amount to the wrong bank account again. This way, it will classify it as a transfer. After that, process a bank transfer from the incorrect account to the correct one. Simply hit the + button on the top left and pick Transfer

For more details, check out this article: Transfer funds between accounts.

You can always access any reports to review the payments of your tenants. Then customize it to show the specific details.

I've also added articles about how to return the deposit and other helpful topics that you can use for your future tasks.

Let me know if you have another concern by clicking the Reply button. I'm always here for you. Keep safe!
