Receive payment showing credits invoices that were already paid

good afternoon all,

 

I have an issue with the receive payments, they are showing certain invoices as credit, but they were paid already. So every time that I send a new invoice to that customer it is taking paying the new invoice with those credits.

It's possible that some credits automatically applied to the invoices. For that reason, the paid invoices will show as a credit in the Receive Payment window.

 

We can turn off the Automatically apply credits feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) so that your future invoices won't be paid as credit.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced tab and go to the Automation section.
  3. Turn off the Automatically apply credits function.
  4. Click Save and Done.

You can also follow these steps if you want to unlink the unapplied credit from your invoices.

  1. Open the invoice.
  2. Click the payment link, then select the date.
  3. You'll be routed to the Receive Payment page. Go to the Credits section.
  4. Uncheck the unapplied payment or credit memo.
  5. Click Save and close.

After that, the invoice will be open again.
