Recurring Sales Receipts with QB Online API

It is relatively intuitive to use the QB Online UI to create a recurring Sales Receipt (unscheduled) and then "Use" it to create a sales receipt.

However, it really isn't clear to me how to do this via the API... specifically the "Use" logic to create a Sales Receipt from a Sales Receipt Template.

I want to be able to create a Sales Receipt from a template and "Send" the receipt to process the payment (ACH in this case).   Is there anything in the API that supports that particular workflow?   I see of course that you can create Sales Receipts but there doesn't appear to be any "create from template" like attributes.

Additionally, I would love to use the interval or "in advance" scheduling components to create a Sales Receipt that will be processed on a given date after the details have been populated (headed towards Unscheduled since my Sales Receipt will have different values/details each instance)

Recurring Sales Receipts with QB Online API

Hello there, bradrust.

We have a different type of recurring template which you have the option to automatically send it based on the interval dates you set on the template. For more details on how these types works, you can check out this page: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online

If you have a different API that you wanted to integrate you might want to visit our Intuit Developers site. You can enter your question there.

Feel free to post here if you need anything else. Take care!

Recurring Sales Receipts with QB Online API

That answer really doesn't help me or clear things up unfortunately.

I have read the recurring documentation and about the different types of Sales Receipts (scheduled, unscheduled, etc...).   I'll restate what I am trying to accomplish and see if there are any suggestions that might help me.

We have non-static Sales Receipts each month which are geared for Unscheduled Sales Receipt since we need to change the items and prices/values each month for many Customers.

I have no desire to have a human click the button on the Recurring Transaction UI which is labelled "Use" (template) so a human can enter non-static Sales Receipt details... so I would like to use the QB Online API which I currently use for creating Invoices and automate the whole process.

Is there anything that you know of that you could suggest that would allow me to do that?   If the answer is to ask the API community, then I will do that.  But if you have some other suggestions on how people solve this in an automated fashion, I am all ears.

thanks.
