What should I do if I’m receiving emails that my credit card is unable to be charged? I’ve already input the card number again and waited, only to receive another email.

Hi there, @jon62.

This isn't the kind of experience I want you to have with QuickBooks.

Intuit gets the payment for the QuickBooks subscription based on the information entered in the Billing section. Please ensure to use the accepted payment methods for QBO. A debit or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card, or American Express). Then retry to add your new credit card in QuickBooks.

Here's how to edit your card info:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings.
  2. Choose the Billing & Subscription tab, then click the Edit payment method.
  3. Add the preferred payment method by clicking the drop-down arrow, then fill in the necessary fields.
  4. Submit the changes.

See this update on the payment information for your subscription article for more information.

Please let me know if you have additional QuickBooks concerns. I'm always here to help. Have a safe and productive week ahead!

@jon62

Just to clarify, do you need to update your billing information or purchase a new account?

Thank you! However, I have attempted to update with the card (same info) and the card is still not being charged.

It’s requesting I update my billing info, however it’s updated already as far as I’m aware because I did re input the info.

Thanks for coming back here, jon62.

Once your billing information is updated, it can take up to 24 hours for your account to be charged and activate your account.

If you're getting the same result, please reach out to our Customer Care Team. They can pull up your account and help you update the information.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
  3. Enter your question and click Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Start a chat or Call us.

If you have the new QuickBooks Assistant help update, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Help menu, and select Talk to a human.
  2. Choose Talk to a human again.
  3. Proceed with I still need a human.
  4. Click the Contact us link.
  5. Select either Start messaging or Get a call.

I'm adding this article for a reference: Update billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.
