To ensure we're on the same page, I'd like to clarify if you're inquiring about the timing of deposits from Shopify Payments to your bank account. If that's the case, let me share how it works.
When you process payments, the money will be deposited into your bank account based on the time of completion. If you process payments before 3 PM PT, you can expect the funds to be available in your account by the next business day. However, if your transactions occur after 3 PM PT, it may take up to two business days for the deposit to arrive. If you're a new user of QuickBooks Payments, please note that your initial payments could take up to 5 days to process as we set up your account. After your first transaction, subsequent payments will be processed at the usual speed.

Ok sorry, I'm not talking about the actual money, I'm talking about the communication from Shopify Point of Sale to Quickbooks. It was communicating for awhile, but now it just brings over the sale order. It does bring over the credit card payment from Shopify to Quickbooks in the (commerce payout) tab. It does not bring over the (other payment) which includes cash and check. I can go to the sales order and see that payment was made, but it doesn't record it in payouts. It would also save a lot of time if it would bring over customer information. I have customers that have charge accounts here at my store. Quickbooks tells me that someone owes me money, but doesn't say who it is. Is this something that can be changed?
I can share insights on why other payments such as cash and checks aren't included on the payouts record in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Centralpaul.
Let's check if the Shopify settings are configured correctly to include all types of payments since QuickBooks only depends on the data sent by the Shopify app.
Meanwhile, if Shopify doesn't support cash and check payments, we can have the option to enter them manually in QBO instead.
For cash payments, let's record it in QBO by creating a sales receipt, and for check payments, let's create a bank deposit entry.
On the other hand, let's generate reports and check open invoices in QBO so you can track customers who owe you money.
To begin, with let's open those open invoices to check which customer is associated with those transactions:
Also, let's run some accounts receivable and invoice reports to see which customers owe you money:
Furthermore, once your customer plans to pay your invoices, you can receive and record them within QBO.
