I accidentally opened the map in the online screen, and there is no "x" to close it. How do I get rid of it?

Hello there, administration5.

To close the map on the online screen, you can adjust the zoom settings. It seems that you are unable to view the entire page, which could be why the x button is not visible on the display screen.

You can zoom out by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and pressing the minus (-) key repeatedly. Alternatively, you can hold the Ctrl key and move the mouse wheel downward.

In addition, QuickBooks requires specific settings to ensure that all pages are displayed correctly. You should adjust your screen resolution to  1024x768 or higher, and your dots-per-inch (DPI) must be Normal or 100%.

Please refer to this article to verify and adjust the settings on your device: Unable to see the entire page.

If the issue persists, you can try accessing your QuickBooks account through a private browsing window to see if it is a browser-related issue. You can use the following shortcut keys to access incognito mode:

  • Safari: ControlOption + P
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + ShiftN
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

If this works, you can clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result, I recommend switching to a different supported browser.

I have included an article that provides instructions on how to view, add, and edit your team members' timesheets in QuickBooks. For detailed information, please check: Track and Manage QuickBooks Time in QuickBooks Online.
