Multiple teams and managers

I have managers over specific geographic locations. I only want those managers seeing info about their respective location workers. Would I change their permission role to Payroll Manager to accomplish this, or would they then see ALL workers instead of only those in the Group they are listed as Manager?

I'm trying to create autonomy across groups.  One Group Manager should only have access to his/her group and not have visibility into other groups.

Hi there @UPsource PEO! You're right on track with this one. When a worker is added as the manager of a group, they are automatically given extra permissions to manage the people in their group. Even if someone is assigned the "Worker" role, as a manager they can:

  • Manage user accounts
  • Manage timesheets
  • Approve timesheets
  • Manage schedules
  • Run reports

All limited to the people in their group. The Payroll Manager role would give them permission to view and manage ALL employee timesheets, so, not we want in this case. Being a manager should be enough.

I hope this helps! If there is something you want your managers to do that isn't covered in the list above, let me know, and we can go through some more options. I'd love to hear how it goes for you either way.

Hey Ami.  Thanks for the quick response!  That answered my question on security permissions.  Since the group manager can edit in/out punches, I won't have to make that person a Payroll Manager.  Wonderful product!  Thank you for the great guidance.
