Name matching mangles my typing

Example - I need to bill time against the company Netcom.

I'll type Netcom.

By the time I get to the O in Netcom it has matched Northwest Company automatically replacing what I typed.

Since I've continued typing (mostly muscle memory) I end up with either "om" let in the field or just an "m" or some other useless partial string of text.

Backyard matches around the "back" part of the name, auto-fills another customer's name (NOT HELPING) and I end up with "Remoyard".

Why is it replacing what I have gone through the trouble of typing?

This is infuriating when doing multiple entries. At times I feel like I've spent more time correcting Quickbooks name entries than I have entering time for customer billing..

It's been a couple years now. I've worked with your agents. I've allowed them to remote in and see I'm not the problem. They admitted, this is not right and promised to send it "up."

PLEASE FIX THIS.

Hello @david-seber, I can imagine how frustrating it can be when the product you are using isn't functioning the way you'd expect.

 

I have reviewed the solutions my colleagues have given you in previous conversations and they've provided similar solutions that I would here.

 

At this time I am unaware of any bugs related to your concern, but I will notify the product team so that they can look into this.

 

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and if I get any updates I will let you know via this thread.

I have submitted feedback as well. I am reporting the bug. I have reported the bug several times. I previously invited a support rep, while on the phone, to remote in to my system and demonstrated the bug.

 

The bug remains present to this day after several years. I am reminded every time I go to do timesheets so my employer can submit invoices for the support I am providing. And every time (until this is resolved) I will remind the forums this bug is still driving me nuts.

Another week, another report of the same bug.

I typed in "Sacred" and ended up with... a "d"

"Netcom" leaves me with "Northm"

 

This is so frustrating.

I can imagine the situation you’re in right now, @david-seber.

 

Rest assured our engineering team is diligently working to fix this as soon as possible.

 

In the meantime, I suggest contacting our TSheets support team. I understand you’ve already contacted them, however, it would be best to reach out to them again. There, they can provide you more details about the issue.

 

You can also request them to send you an email once any news and updates are available.

Per the TSheets contact options I should be able to contact them through the "Community." Isn't that here? Please advise them to take a peek at the forums for long-standing issues such as this. 

 

And it's another day, another struggle entering my time sheets. At least I remembered to start early so I don't have the timesheets website dump all my hard work.

Hi david-seber We have recommended that you contact TSheets support as this is a 3rd party App that integrates with QuickBooks and their support team will be able to assist you with the issue.

Good morning, @david-seber. Thank you for coming back to the Community about your issue. I can understand being frustrated with the search not working as intended. I did want to do my part and double-check if this is a known issue and at this time, I don't see any other reports of this. Regardless I'm happy to clear things up for you!

 

The link you provided is the correct one for contacting us, and you'll find the support number there as well (888-836-2720). The Community is always an option for support and we’re so happy to help, but for situations like this where it would require directly accessing your account to see an issue in action, a live agent (via phone or chat) is the best option. They’ll be able to collect more information and escalate as necessary to get all of the right eyes on it.
